How To Walk On The Path Of Peace (Part 1)
As there are silent depths in the ocean, which the fiercest storm cannot reach, so there are silent, holy depths in the heart of man which the storms of confusion and sorrow can never disturb. To reach this silence and to live consciously in it is peace. Hatred severs human lives, fosters persecution, and hurls nations into ruthless wars, yet men, though they do not understand why, retain some measure of faith in a Perfect Love; and to reach this Love and to live consciously in it is peace. And this inward peace, this silence, this harmony, this Love, is the Kingdom of Heaven, reached through the emptying of our minds, the relinquishing of all our limiting beliefs and the willingness to embrace simplicity and to become as little children. If you want to realize the Light that never fades, the Joy that never ends, and the tranquility that cannot be disturbed; if you want to release your sorrows, your anxieties and confusion; then conquer your mind. Bring every thought, every impulse, and every desire into perfect harmony with the divine power resident within you. All your pain and sorrows, your fears and anxieties are ideas of yourself that you hold on to, they are yours, and you can cling to them or you can give them up. Of your own accord you cling to your unrest; of your own accord you can come to abiding peace. The greatest teacher can do no more than walk the way of Truth for himself, and point it out to you; and you must walk it for yourself. You may ask,'How do I find this place of peace within me?' The answer is to take time in each day to enter the kingdom of stillness within you. Free from the intrusion of all limiting beliefs, you will find a deep silence, a holy calm, a blissful rest, and if you will stay awhile in this sacred place, and will meditate here, you will experience the essence of Truth within you, and you will see things as they really are. This sacred place within you is your real and eternal self; it is the divine within you. It is the abode of peace, the sanctuary of wisdom, the dwelling-place of immortality. If you can experience this for one minute, one hour, or one day, it is possible for you to experience this always. You may then ask, 'What does it mean to meditate and how do I do this?' Meditation is the intense awareness, in thought, upon an idea or theme, and whatsoever you constantly meditate upon you will not only come to understand, but will grow more and more into its likeness, for it will become infused into your very being, will become, in fact, your very experience. If you are constantly aware of your fears and your pain, you will ultimately experience fear and unhappiness; if you are constantly aware of that which is loving and joyful, you will experience a life filled with love and joy. Tell me what it is that you most frequently and intensely think, where, in your silent hours, your thoughts most naturally turn to, and I will tell you to what place of pain or peace you are traveling, and the quality of life you are living. It is unavoidable but to become and experience that which you most constantly think. Meditation, in the spiritual sense is the secret of all growth in spiritual life and knowledge. Every prophet, sage, and savior utilized the power of meditation. Buddha meditated upon the Truth until he could say, "I am the Truth." I always had an active imagination when I was young. I hated school, and would pass the time away day- dreaming about things I should not even have known about at such a young age. I used to make up stories in my head, that would always have me as the centre of attention, like collecting an Oscar for a Hollywood film that I had starred in, or recovering from a major operation or accident. I think I was like this because I was a shy kid who lacked a lot of confidence. It was no different when I started work.

How To Be Secure In An Insecure World
Most of us believe that our happiness and security are dependent upon our relationships, work, income and the external events that take place in our lives. Crossing The Line Of Fear
Oh, this is a great topic! I remember when I was younger and in school, fear stopped me from asking out a girl I wanted to date. I can remember all the thoughts of different things I wanted to say and how I would ask her out. But as quickly as the thoughts to ask her out popped in my head, I came up with all the reasons why she might say no. I remember the "feeling" of rejection and embarrassment even though I didn't even pick up the phone! It's as real in my mind right now as it was then.
Withstand the Test of Time
As I drove home from work late one wintry afternoon, chilled from the freezing temperatures, I noticed the beautiful trees aligned on both sides of the road. Amongst the evergreens and the pine trees, one tree in particular caught my attention as it majestically stood, with its strong branches extending outward. This tree, bare from the many leaves that had once hung from its branches, daringly saluted the sky. I thought about how this deeply rooted tree stood year after year, withstanding the test of time through the altering seasons. I thought about how this tree stood -- regardless of the many changes brought about by the sultry summers and the chilling winters. Through all of the changes, through the bend of the limbs and the fallen leaves, there it stood -- through the test of time. Many times in your life, you may feel as though you've taken all that you can take -- that you have stood all that you can stand. You may feel like throwing your arms up and just giving up -- simply giving in. My friend, you are where you are today because of your ultimate strength to withstand in the midst of failing relationships, heartbreaks, getting no breaks, of so-called friends becoming your worst enemies. You are where you are today because you withstood all of those changes and many more. You are where you are today because of the many obstacles that you have already successfully surmounted. You are where you are today because you daringly saluted the circumstances, sometimes not even realizing how. The very strength that brought you here, will allow you to withstand your present circumstance. Don't throw in the towel. Don't give up on yourself. Don't give up on life. Just like this majestic tree, it is imperative that you are deeply rooted in your beliefs, in God, and in yourself -- so that when life-altering events come to weaken you, or to make you bend, you will daringly withstand the test of time. Attest today: I will no longer bend to the life-altering events that continuously come my way. I will stand strong, realizing that through my inner strength, and hope in God -- I will be like the majestic tree that withstands the test of time -- for I too -- am strong.
