Get Your Guidance and Get to Know Your True Self
Many people feel they have everything they need in life, yet happiness remains elusive. What is the key, the missing element when everything seems satisfactory externally? The answer: look within. Being connected to your inner self is the key to a happy, balanced life. So, what exactly is your inner self? Simply put, your inner self is born from your connection to source. No matter your beliefs about source, spirit, God, you are connected to this source at all times, and you are a part of this source. You are also uniquely individual, with your very own, one-of-a-kind passion and purpose to fulfill. Your spiritual source, your purpose and your passions all comprise the core of your being, from which all other distinctive traits come. So how do you connect with this inner you? By listening to your feelings and thoughts. Many of us get so busy, we suppress our thoughts and feelings, which is suppressing our inner guidance system and our connection with our true inner self. Make a decision to start listening to yourself, and you will start to catch the fleeting thoughts and feelings that guide you every moment of the day. It is also a good idea to set aside time each day to be quiet, still and reflect. Think of it as a date with yourself. The more you know yourself, the more you love yourself, the better your external life will be. Your external life is an expression of your internal relationship with self. Happiness comes from within. Put yourself first, not last, and bask in the happiness and success that follow. As a Peak Performance Coach, I do a lot of personal development trainings for adults and children, alike. I love kids! They don't think like us adults. Kids are just so incredibly and infectiously optimistic. And, they are absolute Masters of embracing, "what could be."
Hitler and the Tsunami
In Catholic school the nuns used to tell us that we should love everyone as we loved Jesus. We
didn't have to like them but we had to love them. I used to argue this and my trump card was always
Hitler. How could I love him and, by the way, why would I want to be a part of any religion which said I
had to?

There Must Be A Way Out!
He was pushing a cart containing crates of soft drinks and followed closely by his two little boys when their momentum was halted. Noticing the situation, I ? who was on my way to see my printer's - stopped to see what would happen next. Before them stood this mud-filled pothole spanning the entire breadth of the road, providing, apparently, "a-no-way-out" situation for this bunch. His little boys turned to him with an anxious look that read; "Now we're stuck".

Melting Snow
I love the sounds of melting snow-plink, plink, ting, ting, ting, a staccato drip on sloped metal roofs, the occasional loud crack of a giant icicle, the bubble and gurgle of the mountain brook as it swells and tumbles over polished rocks on its way to the valley below.
A Key In Hand Is Worth A Thousand On My Desk
A key fault I have, and I can only talk about one fault at a time, is the tendency to get busy. I often find myself chasing my own tail. What I will do with it when I catch it is beyond my understanding. However, this notwithstanding, I fall into the trap time after time of getting too busy for my own good.
The Pledge
You know kids, one of the things I've learned by letting more people know what's going on inside my head is that once you do people expect you to live up to what you've put out there. I've sort of learned on the fly here that using this knowledge as a burr under the saddle that is my life accelerates my growth. Where I used to piddle (piddle's a FUN word to say...) around on things that I was working on internally and hadn't publicly disclosed, it's become clear to me that if I make it wide spread knowledge that ??this is an area I'm working on getting better in??, you guys and girls let me know when I've missed the mark.

Create Your Own Self Esteem - Part 1
Self-esteem is something that we all wish we had more of. Some of us go through our entire life feeling "self-esteem deficient". The constraints placed on us by low self esteem can feel so impenetrable that we find ourselves shrinking back from our dreams and accepting something less than desirable. This often results in feelings of emptiness, sadness, deprivation and a life not fully lived.
A Little Blessing Changes Everything
"We're on a one-game winning streak!" That's what freshman Dawan Boxley said after his basketball team, the Rutgers-Camden Pioneers, beat Bloomfield College 77 to 72, snapping a five-year, 117-game losing streak. Imagine losing every game for five years; how depressing that must have been for the team, the coach, and the entire school! But what a joy when that buzzer sounded and game 118 turned out differently.
