Joy in Perseverance
I will persist until I succeed. Always will I take another step. If that is of no avail I will take another, and yet another. In truth, one step at a time is not too difficult... I know that small attempts, repeated, will complete any undertaking. ~ Og Mandino Pick a big dream, a once in a lifetime dream, a song in your heart dream, a gift to mankind dream, a purpose-filling dream. Then run with it and persevere! Feel gratitude for the time spent developing your talents. The joy is in the journey with its obstacles and surprises. When we reach the peaks on the first horizon, another horizon appears. What then? Persevere again. Great missions are never achieved; they are lived. They continue to beckon us forward. They need constant tending, and in that tending are many small achievements. Beyond success is fulfillment more rewarding than any physical destination. We are pulled forward purposely; life continuously seeks expansion. We were made to experience and participate in that joyful, creative flow of living energy. It's music is vigilance, and we are its dancers. To persevere is to move in alignment and in harmony with life. When you feel like your journey is becoming long and difficult, recall these enduring words spoken by John Quincy Adams (1767-1848): "Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish." Ask yourself these questions:
What is my personal journey? What am I firmly committed to accomplishing during my lifetime? What has stopped me from completing my goals in the past? What do I need to believe to consistently work toward my goals and develop the habit of perseverance? What joys do I experience each day while living the purpose I intend to fulfill? What will I realize when I have completed my ultimate mission?

I had been fighting with the software program that I used to build my website. The software program had a bug in it and would occasionally anger the main brains of my computer. Without warning, my computer would lock the program shut and forbid me to enter the website's file. I never knew from day to day which time I saved the file and closed it would be the last time I'd be able to open it. It didn't happen very often, but when it happened, it was like the file no longer existed. My computer had put an invisible prison wall around it and I was no longer allowed to enter in and work within the file. I would have to recreate the website from scratch every time this happened.

In the Eyes of a Child
It was way past 10:00 pm when I came home from a grueling day of schoolwork and extracurricular activities. The wind was rustling about overhead as I paced through the door of our humble abode. I moved towards the nearest couch and plumped myself to rest. Defeat and exhaustion filled my frame as I laid back against the soft cushions. But then I remembered our Hematology project which was due the next day. Galvanized, I scrambled off my feet and immediately headed towards the personal computer situated on the other side of the room. Just then, my little brother Michael dashed out of his room and came straight at me. He was holding a pen on his right hand and a piece of paper on the other.

. . . . . riding a roller coaster for the very first time. You've heard things about roller coaster rides, but what you heard depended on who was doing the telling. From some people (usually kids, or chronological adults who remained kids at heart and kept their iron stomachs) you heard glorious stories about the thrilling climbs and descents, about the twists and turns and maybe even roll-overs. Their words and facial expressions and body language were filled with exhilaration and excitement. Even if they didn't tell you outright, you just knew from listening to them that they would jump at the chance to do it again and again and again. From other people, such as older folks, the faint-at-heart, etc., you heard about wrenched backs, whiplash, and the inevitable nausea.
